Animated Films Technical Specifications

These are the Animation Programs’ technical specifications for film delivery within the School of Film/Video.
Character Animation Required Specifications:
These settings are required for Character Animation student films being submitted to the Character Animation Open Show:
- File Format: QuickTime (.mov)
- Codec/Compressor: Apple ProRes 422 HQ
- Resolution: HD (1920 x 1080)
- Frame Rate: 24
- Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
- Field Order: Progressive
Audio: 5.1 or Stereo; 48 kHz, 24 bit, Uncompressed PCM
Experimental Animation Suggested Specifications
- File Format: QuickTime (.mov)
- Codec/Compressor: Apple ProRes 422 HQ
- Size: 16:9 container, HD (1920×1080) or 4kUHD (3840×2160), with alternative aspect ratios letterboxed or pillarboxed within the 16:9 container.
- Frame Rate: 24
- Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
- Field Order: Progressive
- Audio: 5.1 or Stereo; 48 kHz, 24 bit, Uncompressed PCM
