Electronic Key Cards

Some of our facilities have electronic locks with keypads. Once you have gained access to these rooms, use your CalArts ID card and PIN number to enter them.

Please go to Facilities Management and/or Campus Safety to receive your CalArts ID card and to set your PIN number. If you forget your PIN number, they will also be able to reset this for you.

At doors with electronic locks, please follow these steps:

1. Tap your CalArts ID card to the keypad until you hear a “beep”
2. Type in your 4-digit PIN 
3. Press ENTER
4. The light above the keypad will turn green, and the door will unlock

Access privileges are assigned based on course enrollment, facility authorization, and operational needs. Unauthorized use of another person’s ID card or PIN may result in suspension of facility access.

Repeated violations of key checkout procedures may result in temporary or permanent suspension of facility access privileges.
