Proximity Media (JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH, HOMEROOM, STEPHEN CURRY: UNDERRATED, VOICES RISING: THE MUSIC OF WAKANDA FOREVER, CREED III) is a multi-media production company seeking a motivated, ambitious intern to support our nonfiction department. This position is ideal for those interested in becoming documentary producers, directors, or executives —you must love reading, nonfiction film and television, have strong analytical writing skills, and a passion for diverse & inclusive storytelling. Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities will include remote administrative support, coverage, industry research, and participation in company-wide staff meetings. Interns have the opportunity to develop an original nonfiction (documentary or docuseries) pitch to deliver to Proximity executives at the end of the semester. The internship also has an educational component, including zoom lunches with Proximity executives and industry professionals.
Note that we’re currently only considering college juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students in their final year.
The internship will begin in SEPTEMBER and ideal candidates will be available 9am-6pm PT, preferably 3 days per week. Alternatively, one full day 9am-6pm PT + four half days (9am-1pm and/or 2pm-6pm PT) is acceptable. Additionally, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are both preferred days for work.
The position is paid and interns will work from the Proximity offices in Burbank, CA two days a week, and one day from home. If you cannot be in LA for the duration of this internship there is the potential for hybrid or remote candidates. Cover letters are encouraged.
