AfroAnimation 3.0 is a 2-day in-person and virtual Summit in Burbank, California, that is dedicated to empowering creatives, creating employment pathways and increasing diverse and women representation in the animation industry. They do this by connecting creators of color from around the globe with Hollywood and Canadian film and television companies to meet and discuss important topics relative to the vertical, gain new insights, recruit, screen indie films, network, award and celebrate.
AfroAnimation encourages students to attend, as the summit provides opportunities to:
- Network and meet hundreds of other creatives from around the globe, including other creative students from other schools, award winners, movie studio and television executives from Netflix Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Animation, Disney Animation, Nickelodeon, Titmouse and more
- Sit-in on panel discussions and workshops from studio executives, recruiters, artist talent and award-winners to learn best design practices in the animation industry
- Get your resume or portfolio reviewed by recruiters with real-time feedback
- Compete in our indie short film awards for national recognition and a $500 cash prize
- Attend Indie short animation film screening by up-and-coming producers and creators
- Get knowledge about industry resources, internships, apprenticeships and scholarships
- Attend workshops and masterclasses in-person
- Celebrate with other artists at events in-person
- Visit Expo booth for information and perks in-person
